Meagan grew up in South Florida and always knew she was going to have a love for the arts.  After seeing her first Broadway show, CATS, all she wanted to do was get up on the stage.  That’s when she started taking voice and dance and lessons . . . tap, jazz, hip-hop, if you can name it, Meagan studied it!  At the age of 13, Meagan was cast in two professional dance groups:  “Pop-Starz” and “The Untouchables,” learning choreography from artists such as Wade Robinson, Chris Jones, and Glenn Douglas Packard, and opening for artists such as Hilary Duff, B2K, Nysnc’, and Pit Bull.

Meagan eventually headed to The University of Tampa where she recently earned her Bachelors Degree in Performing Arts, along with minors in Applied Dance and Dance Theatre.  At the University of Tampa, Meagan performed in several plays and musicals, playing such diverse roles as Nickie in Sweet Charity, Jason in Falsettos, Puck in A Mid Summer Night’s Dream, and Thea in Pippin.  She also had the opportunity of choreographing her own routines for the annual “Dance Happenings,” while also dancing in each Spring’s Dance Concert.

While at UT, Meagan was honored with such awards as

  • University of Tampa’s Student of Ethics Award

  • University of Tampa’s Performing Arts Student of the Year 2011

  • University of Tampa’s Dance Student of the Year 2011

  • University of Tampa’s Music Department’s Antonini Senior Vocal Music Performance and Service Award

In addition to her work at The University of Tampa, Meagan performed in multiple productions at The David A. Straz, Jr. Center for the Performing Arts (formerly the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center), including The Rocky Horror Show, GODSPELL, and RESPECT! The Musical.  After performing in Busch Garden’s Christmas from the Heart in 2010, Meagan is excited to once again be back at The Dark Continent for the summer of 2011.  In addition, Meagan is a member of the Little Dance Company, and a faculty member for The Lovewell Institute.
